Easter Sunday

Hi Nenna,
We had a lovely afternoon over at our friends yesterday and I took a few pictures of Kristen, but not many. Didn't get any of me and Jason!! The view below is from Chris and Rick's back yard!

 It was a little windy out there!

Happy Tuesday

Hi Nenna, 

 Sorry I haven't posted in a week. I haven't been sitting at my computer much this week, that's cos my computer is actually now Jason's computer.Well, let me explain... my computer has gone down to the basement, Jason has brought his computer (along with his 3 screens) upstairs and put it where my computer used to be. That's so he can easily work on it when he comes home from work, instead of going downstairs where we can't see him and feel like he's never in the house with us!! If that makes any sense. It just means that I can't really blog on a night time while he's working (cos I don't go downstairs much either), but I can blog while I'm sitting with Kristen during the day. 

We have been invited over to friends for Easter dinner (did I already tell you that?). We'll be going over on Sunday at 4.30. Other neighbors we know will be there so it will be a nice afternoon. Not been up to much else lately. 

 I'm trying to find bedding for your room, I mean the guest room (Jason laughs because I call it 'Nenna's Room) ;) I can't find anything? Not even sure what color I want to do it in yet. I am leaning toward yellowy bright colors, and white sheets, with daisies in the room or something? Got any ideas? I'll have to keep searching... got some very special VIP's coming to visit in June :) 

I've just been putting laundry away, changing bed sheets etc. so I'm going to put my feet up for an hour. Dinner is in the crockpot, I'm roasting some pork to make tacos with. I keep meaning to call Mam, but never get round to it. She never seems to want to talk much when I do call, so I just keep putting off and getting on with stuff around the house. I'll try to call her tomorrow. 

I'm still not finished painting the basement but here's a couple of pictures I took of the one side I got done. Still stuff on the table there, so ignore that....

 

and ignore my cardigan on the bar ;-)

 

I'll take lots more pictures when it's all done.

It's Monday!

Hi Nenna,

Hope you got my email from yesterday. I haven't been on much over the weekend so no pictures to share from that. I did mention I'd been painting and I'll try to take some photos today of the basement. 

Sun is shining (it's 8.30am) but it's quite chilly out there this morning. We will be just doing school and going for some groceries today... rather boring, but such is life during the week. 

Easter is coming up soon, so I thought I'd share some pictures from a few years ago. This one was taken in 2003, we were just off to church that day. Kristen was just over 3 years old. 

Here she is opening her easter basket. Do they do that over there? I know we only got easter eggs but we never got a basket of goodies from the easter bunny... that's what they get here. And they go on egg hunts. I would hide eggs around the house so Kristen could look for them on Easter Morning (sunday). I won't be hiding eggs this year, but I'll be putting some goodies in a basket for her. I think kids as old as 18 still get Easter baskets from their parents!!!

Mall

Hi Nenna,

I forgot to show you these photos I took last week when I was taking Kristen for her testing. I had to kill 4 hours so I walked around the mall for 2 of them. This is the nearest mall to us, but I don't go that often. To be honest there's never much I need there, so I might only go every few months now. It looked pretty with the sun streaming in though, and I was standing there thinking how you would love to be here shopping with me, even if we didn't buy anything.

 

 

Can't wait for you to get here!

Crazy Girls!

Hi Nenna, I'm sure these photos put a smile on your face :-) Your girls are crazy.... wonder who they take after? I took these back in 2008, when we came over to visit. They just insisted on showing me how they could touch their noses with their tongues, and well, in Joanne's case, she can actually pick her nose too, so talented, LOL :)

I'm going to my WW meeting in half an hour. It's nice and sunny outside even though it's freezing. It will be nice though as it should be still light when I get out of the meeting now that the clocks have gone forward here. Not sure if I will have lost anything or stayed the same? I didn't stay on plan at the weekend and today is that time of the month, so I might be a bit heavier, who knows. I did do a workout today and hope to do one every day, so that should help. I'm determined to fit in to my jeans and capris that I was wearing last summer. It just gets harder the older you get, as I'm sure you know.

Not much else to write about today. Kristen is feeling better, we go to her last testing tomorrow but it's in the morning!! We have to be there for 7.45am. Last week we were going in the afternoon but didn't get out of there til nearly 5, so morning might be nicer. I'm always awake at 5am anyway.

Happy Mother's Day

Hi Nenna,

Happy Mother's Day. I hope by the time you read this you have been spoiled rotten by your lovely kiddos :-) It's been snowing here all day, think we've got about 8 inches again. I just wanted to post a couple of pictures for you. I thought I'd share some of my mother's day photos (although I won't be celebrating here until May).

Yes, this was my very first Mother's Day :-) Kristen was 6 months old, and I was 37!!! Gawd, I look so young, lol :) 

 

 I love these two pictures, it's like we're having a good old girly chat.

Fast forward 12 years ... last year we were actually visiting Denver for the first time to look around, when it was Mother's Day (I think!). This picture was taken when we went out to lunch, and I had a mimosa, and prime rib for lunch. 

 I've had a picture taken with Kristen EVERY mothers day (just like I take one of her every Christmas Eve). Pictures below were of my 2nd Mother's Day. We'd been to church with some friends and Jason took these in the back yard before we went.

I'd love to share all 12 years with you, but that would make an awfully long post. I hope you enjoyed these ones, and I hope you've enjoyed your very special day today too.
